Welcome To My 2nd Ultimate Blog Party!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party!!

I'm so glad you stopped by, and I hope we'll become blog friends.

I'm French and I blog from California, where I live with my husband and young son. I started this dessert blog a year ago (my blog-iversary was March 3! WOOHOO!!) just as a test to see if I would like the Blogger platform, but it had such immediate success that I never started the mommy slice of life with a French joie de vivre twist which I had planned to write.

I've been having a blast and from all the great comments from my regular readers, I think they've been pretty happy too.

Besides, I want this blog to be FUN and a lot more than just a series of recipes. That's why I take my readers on fieldtrips to yummy foodie places like the Laduree Tea Salon in Paris; I have great giveaways (the last one was a cookbook written by comedienne Amy Sedaris and the next giveaway is in April so be sure to check back here); and I host fun recipe roundups like my We All Scream for Ice Cream! roundup. There's always something new and unexpected, all with a dessert theme.

Does CHOCOLATE make you happy??!! My next roundup will be on Monday, April 20, and we will celebrate the Joy Of Chocolate! Yum!! I can't wait to see what you all come up with! :-)

I'm also launching a new weekly carnival called Vintage Recipe Thursday. Vintage Recipe Thursday (VRT) is meant to preserve out-of-print, copyright-free recipes from old cookbooks, magazines or newspapers. You can also post your own original vintage family recipes. Click on the link for the details. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

So come on friends, FOLLOW ME and we'll have lots of FUN together!!!

  • For our lovely hostesses and Pamela: Here are the prize numbers of what I would love to win should I be picked.
  • #58 -- My absolute favorite. With a dessert blog I do a lot of baking, including breads, so I not only want the Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer generously donated by Moms Who Think, but I also NEED it! It would also give me lots to blog about.

  5. OM gosh! I am so glad I found your blog :-)

I also live in California, and blog about food and feeding my family. We took a trip to Paris last year, and I loved dragging my kids around to view the food - pain au chocolate, cheese, and yes, Laduree.

Love your Vintage Recipe Carnival - I will check back. I have loads of old recipes from my Grandmother and Great Aunts and was going to use my blog as a place to save all of them, but have not gotten around to it.

    Again, great to meet you!

  16. Joy, thank you for the wonderful comments. You are right I am a newbie! I will be back to your blog because I love your idea of the Chocolate Round Up! Chocolate does make me happy! I love dark chocolate, and I always have. I used to have to hunt an search for a dark chocolate bar for my chocolate fix now dark chocolate is popular and I can find it everywhere! Whoo hoo!
I love to cook too, (doing dishes I can do with out!) I will be checking out your recipes. I have collected a bunch of old cooking books over the years because I enjoy them too. I think it reminds me of my favorite memories of being at my Grandma's house. (Nobody cooks as well as Grannie!)
So I will be back to see your blog, and it was a pleasure to meet you. Thanks again.

  17. Bonjour! Merci de votre visite!
In the words of my favorite dessert maker Jacques Torres, "Eat Dessert First", I am so happy you stopped by and now I have this amazing blog to follow!

  18. Terre: Dark chocolate is suddenly everywhere and spicy chocolate too. I'm so glad you'll be participating in the chocolate roundup. I hope you are planning on sharing some of these vintage recipes with all of us too. There are so many people who love vintage recipes and I think you are absolutely right, it is because of "granny memories" and for some, wishful granny memories too. There's something about made from scratch, the good old fashioned way that really appeals. I look forward to your visits.

Renee: Bonjour! :-) I'm so glad you like it here. It's nice to find a mutual blog friend. Thank you for the compliment and for following me. A bientôt.
