About/Welcome

Welcome everyone!

My name is Joy.  I live in California, and was born and raised in Paris, France.  I am married, and am a mom to a pre-teen boy.  I love life and want to help everyone enjoy it, which is why I started a dessert blog.  Desserts bring out a smile!  :-)

I am an artist and a journalist.  My husband and I are also both teachers -- between the two of us, we have taught from Kindergarten through University, so after several years with private schools, we decided to homeschool our son.  It's a decision we have never looked back on.  Our son is thriving!

Some of the people and things that interest me and bring me joy are my home, family and pets, friends, books, photography, gardening, hiking, travel, art, learning, history, genealogy, antiques and vintage items, journalism, psychology, technology and crafts.  I believe in and love God, and even worked for our church, and have spent a lifetime volunteering for churches and religious groups.

I enjoy the many blog friendships I have made through the years, and welcome active participation through blog comments and entries in my many recipe roundups, and my weekly recipe linkup parties, Monday, Mmm ... Desserts and Vintage Recipe Thursday.

I love desserts. I admit it, I have a sweet tooth and ever since I was a child in France, desserts (and appetizers) have been my favorite part of every meal. I've collected so many recipes from friends and family, and created so many of my own, that I've decided to share with all of you. And I hope you'll share with me as well.
If you're like me, you also enjoy just reading the recipes, so get yourself a cup of tea, coffee, lemonade or drink of choice, sit back, relax and ENJOY!
It's all for YOU and it's going to be FUN!
