Chocolate Recipe: Raisin Nut Brownies

Welcome back to Vintage Recipe Thursday. This is the place to link up any older recipe. I post from a World War II cookbook, but recipes don't need to be that old. You could even post a recipe from the 1990s. You could post your mom's recipes, or grandparent's recipes. If you have old recipe postcards, that's great too. But please do not link your giveaways, sponsored posts, brand new recipes you created today, etc. Please keep to the theme of this recipe linky party. Remember to hyperlink back to Joy of Desserts and do your best to visit at least a few fellow participants. Leave them a comment. You know all bloggers love comments. :-)

If you do want to link a giveaway, please do so on the Giveaway 24/7 page.

Today I picked a recipe with chocolate. We all love chocolate right? As Lucy said in the Peanuts comic strip,
"All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"

Raisin Nut Brownie Squares
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 flour
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
2/3 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure, and sift with salt and cocoa. Add to first mixture. Add nuts, raisins, and flavoring. Mix thoroughly. Pour into shallow, well-oiled baking pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F.) about 45 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares.

BEFORE YOU LINK:
If you follow basic linky party etiquette, I thank you. All your hostesses and fellow bloggers will appreciate it and you will benefit too. You will find that you are helping your own blogs become more popular and helping the foodie community remain a friendly community. Because of those who don't follow such etiquette, I'm saddened to say that for the first time in almost 4 years of blogging, I will have to resort to deleting those who abuse the use of the linky parties here at Joy of Desserts. For basic linky party etiquette you MUST: Follow the linky party theme; link directly to your participating posts; link back to all your hostesses on each participating post (NOT a different page), and don't just link and run. Please do your best to visit fellow participants and leave them a comment. Thank you!
