Today I picked a recipe with chocolate. We all love chocolate right? As Lucy said in the Peanuts comic strip,
"All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"
Raisin Nut Brownie Squares
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 flour
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
2/3 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure, and sift with salt and cocoa. Add to first mixture. Add nuts, raisins, and flavoring. Mix thoroughly. Pour into shallow, well-oiled baking pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F.) about 45 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares.
BEFORE YOU LINK:
If you follow basic linky party etiquette, I thank you. All your hostesses and fellow bloggers will appreciate it and you will benefit too. You will find that you are helping your own blogs become more popular and helping the foodie community remain a friendly community. Because of those who don't follow such etiquette, I'm saddened to say that for the first time in almost 4 years of blogging, I will have to resort to deleting those who abuse the use of the linky parties here at Joy of Desserts. For basic linky party etiquette you MUST: Follow the linky party theme; link directly to your participating posts; link back to all your hostesses on each participating post (NOT a different page), and don't just link and run. Please do your best to visit fellow participants and leave them a comment. Thank you!

My mother made a raisin bar of sorts when I was a kid. I had forgotten all about it. Thanks for the memory. Visit us on Facebook and like us. We are trying to get to 500 by October. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteSherrie: Thank you for sharing another of your family favorites, Sherrie. So glad you are part of our group.
ReplyDeleteConcetta: Mmm ... your pairing sounds great to me, and I can't wait for your delicious trifle. Your blog is so packed full of tasty recipes. Isn't Pinterest fabulous? I'm a very visual person, and I find that website so useful. Looking forward to "pinning" each other lots and lots of times. :-)
