PistachioRecall.Org Lists SAFE Pistachios

In my e-mail this morning, I found what was music to our son's ears! The Federal Drug Administration and the pistachio growers and processors have teamed up to help consumers determine which pistachio brands they can and cannot eat.

PistachioRecall.org provides a safe list of pistachio products and brands NOT affected by the recall.

The Web site is produced by CAL-PURE, a co-op of California pistachio growers ("CAL-PURE"), and the Western Pistachio Association ("WPA") and is accessible directly and via a link on the FDA Web site at www.fda.gov/pistachios.

In their press release, almost verbatim from the FDA, the Western Pistachio Association stated the "FDA is advising consumers not to eat pistachios or food products containing them (such as pistachio bakery goods and pistachio ice cream) unless they can determine that the products do not contain pistachios from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc. The FDA consumer alert is available at this link: http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2009/NEW01982.html."

Following is a list of the latest pistachio recalls as listed on the FDA's website. Be sure to throw out these pistachios and pistachio products. When buying or eating pistachios be sure to check the latest list of SAFE PISTACHIOS at PistachioRecall.org.
