Here's what the publisher has written about this cookbook:
- What could be more satisfying than presenting friends and family with a perfectly crafted homemade dessert, fresh out of the oven? Yet for many, the idea of baking is intimidating; rolling out pie dough or making a cake from scratch is akin to climbing Mount Everest. THE FEARLESS BAKER is a beginner's baking guide written to empower home cooks with spot-on advice and a cache of go-to recipes. Renowned pastry chef Emily Luchetti guides novice bakers through her amazing recipes to troubleshoot their most common pitfalls. Charming color illustrations and photographs of real-life beginning bakers in action complete the instruction, turning even the most tentative baker into a fearless one.
- Emily Luchetti has developed a nationwide following for her innovative yet approachable dessert creations. She is executive pastry chef at Farallon and Waterbar in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has authored five successful cookbooks, and contributed to The New Joy of Cooking and The Farallon Cookbook. She won a 2004 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef.
- Lisa Weiss is a food writer and stylist whose work has appeared in such publications as Cook's Illustrated and Cooking Light. She has co-authored six cookbooks, including The Farallon Cookbook, the James Beard Award-nominated The Seventh Daughter: My Culinary Journey from Beijing to San Francisco with Cecilia Chiang, and the bestselling Complete Meat Cookbook with Bruce Aidells.

Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThe reason I'd love to win this is to give it to a good friend of mine who doesn't have the Internet. She walks to the library several rimes a week to take out cook books.. Then walks to my work to drop off her latest baking project. I think this would make her very happy and then maybe she'll continue to bring me treats!
I follow on GFC. Why do I want to win this? Because I LOVE to bake! I would bake for a living if I could find the time. I'm always looking for great new baking cookbooks and recipes to try and I think this would be a lovely addition to my cookbook collection.

Hey, I just started following your blog :). I would love to win this books for many reasons. I have a passion for baking/pastry arts and I have future plans of going to school to become a baker or pastry chef. I love the creativity of baking and right now I'm a home- baker/cook and I basically learn on my own with the help of books and online. I would love a book that teaches me alot more so I can better my skill :). Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love desserts and don't have a cookbook only dedecated to sweets. I follow through google connect.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteI follow on GFC (although I am very far behind in reading all the posts) - spending a rainy sunday afternoon doing just that (and multi-tasking by baking a pie at the same time).
I'd love to win this to add to my cookbook collection - I'm particularly fond of baking, and have one of Emily's previous cookbooks that I use all the time, so I'd like to see what new tricks she has up her sleeves.
I follow you via google friend connect and I love cookbooks! I always learn something new from every cookbook I have used.
ReplyDeleteI adore your blog. I would love to win this book because I simply love baking and would love to get more into cakes. Aside from mixes, I have only made 1 homemade cake and it was a total disaster. I would love to be a more fearless baker.
ReplyDeleteOut of the 4 cakes for the Royal wedding, I would definitely pick the Something Borrowed. Classy and delicious.
Congrats on your Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteI definitely follow your blog and its fantastic desserts.
I would love to win this book because I would love to be a more fearless pastry baker. The only cake I have made without a mix, turned out tragic and I could use some tips.
I would love to win this book for my pre-teen daughter. She is developing a love for cooking & baking but actually gets intimidated. I think a book like this would be great for her!

ReplyDeleteI would love to have this book because I love to cook and bake, and I love to make people happy with my food. I'm self-taught, so there's lots I can't do yet when it comes to baking - including making a decent pie crust!
I like that it's a beginner's baking guide. I'm not much on complicated recipes, so some staple recipes for beginners would be useful!

Ridiculously simple and extremely indulgent.
ReplyDeleteNow...how can I resist!
Happy Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win this book! I bake, but I stay away from certain recipes because they look too challenging. I've never attempted a souffle, for example, and I avoid making pie crusts (which is sad because my husband loves apple pie).
I already follow you via GFC.
I am a follower.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversaryy!
This book just might give me the inspiration I need to try more challenging recipes.
Hello, I already follow your lovely blog! I'd love to win this book because I love to bake, and my once-upon-a-time secret dream was to be a pastry chef! Now I'm busy being a mama of 3 toddlers, but I can still sneak in some baking time here and there. It'd be great fun to try out recipes from this book!
