Figs are now in season. It's definitely summer! Wishing a happy Wednesday to all. More Word-Filled Wednesday participants can be found atThe 160 Acre Woods.
Lovely photography to match the verse. What a glorious fig. Have not had one in years. Used to be one over the road on the other farm when I was growing up.
Like Bubba Gump with shrimp, I can think of many uses for figs. I love them. Right off the fig-tree love them. Great photo and verse. Happy WFW! Don’t you just love this day?!?
Okay..I had to giggle because I was craving fig newtons lately and I tell you..it's from coming to this site...
I know my husband is going to ask me if I dropped by here today if he sees me snacking on fig newtons...he always knows something is up when I'm trying or making something sweet and your site is the first thing that comes to mind (how's that for free and great PR? LOL).
God bless you sweetie for your innovative and SWEET postings that you share on your blog each time.
You keep this one lady busy in the kitchen making something sweet!
Love your photo and verse. I need to learn more about FIGS. Alls I know is: HOW MUCH I LOVE FIG NEWTONS! LOL Not to worry; I get the parable though! heehee LOVELY PHOTO... AND PURPLE IS RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! Lea <*)))><
Melanie: This is a purple fig. There are also green figs.
Lori: Figs are great in cookies and bars as they make them very moist. I love fig tarts (you could add chocolate!) and even just fresh. Just quarter the figs and have a variety of dips: mascarpone, honey, chocolate, caramel, yogurt, whipped cream, etc. They go great with all sorts of cheeses and nuts too.
Hey there.... I didn't get your email and I'm totally bummed out...can you resend it....I can't wait to hear what you have to SHARE with me!! peace! lori
