Boucheron Immortalizes Ladurée Macarons

Paris luxury jeweler Boucheron immortalizes Ladurée macarons in part of this year's collection titled Gaieté Parisienne (Parisian Joy) with their new line, Gourmandise, which includes Tentation Macarons rings, pendants, necklaces and earings.

It's modern, 21st. century and someone has already taken a bite out of each macaron as you can see from the teeth marks in the pictures. These macarons which come in eight colors, made of tsavorites, multicoloured sapphires, amethysts, garnets or diamonds, may be calorie-free, but they will take a real bite out of your wallet. The least expensive rings run from 4990 euros to 7500 euros, depending on the stones chosen.

The entire Gourmandise line was dedicated to Ladurée's Jeanne Souchard, founder of one of the first Parisian tea rooms.

"We've taken a radical approach about fun," said Jean-Christophe Bédos, chief executive of Boucheron in an article by Suzy Menkes. "This is an opportunity to reinvent ourselves, moving from the 20th to the 21st century. We have to innovate -- to invent the rules of a new game. It's not about being gray and sad."
