Quick & Easy, Fancy Watermelon Dessert Recipes

Add to Technorati Favorites

When most of us eat watermelon, we just eat a slice, maybe someone went to the trouble of balling the watermelon, but rarely does it go any farther.

Yet watermelon can make a very refreshing dessert as a granita or sorbet, and my dad loved watermelon jam. Here are some ideas for great watermelon desserts where presentation makes a huge difference without much effort at all.

  1. Wowzer, Joy! That's what I call scrumptious...and dessert!

Thanks for the welcome to Scrumptious Sunday. :)

  2. Joy these are awesome pictures and recipes! That coconut cake looks truly scrumptious. Did you carve the watermelon?

  3. I love watermelon baskets! They are so beautiful and delicious!

  4. Thank you, Judy and Shannon!

Tamy, that basket picture is from Flickr, my favorite public photo resource. At our home, my husband is the one who carves the watermelons and does all sorts of other food carvings. His mom got a garnishing book when he was just a young child and put him to work each time she had a party -- which was often!

  5. Wow, Joy! I love these ideas of others desserts to create with watermelon. We really heart watermelon at our house!

    Have a great week!
