Dessert recipe linky party!

I hope you all had a fantastic long Thanksgiving weekend. Are you ready for another dessert recipe linky party? I'm looking forward to all of your recipes.

Today's featured dessert is the Autumn Spice Truffles from Lisa (Vintage Mom) at Allergy-Free Vintage Cookery. Truffles have a special place in our hearts at our house, so even these non-chocolate ones look great to me.

Vintage Recipe Thursday Thanksgiving Linky Party, Recipes

Next Thursday will be Thanksgiving so I'd like to make an early wish to all my Vintage Recipe Thursday readers and participants for a
Very Happy Thanksgiving
May you have a safe, warm, happy and tasty Thanksgiving with family and friends.

But don't leave yet!! Be sure to post your vintage recipes for today, and to come back the following week (Dec. 1st. ) for more great vintage recipes. I WILL be posting Monday's Mmm ... Desserts recipe linky party on Monday, so be sure y'all come back!

As you all know I love vintage and the entire Holiday season seems like memories and traditions of family, friends, and special foods are so vivid and so important to most of us. Today, I'm sharing two pie recipes in time for you to make them for next Thursday. Thanksgiving and pie go so well together. First up, I have a Cranberry Banana Pie, and then how about a Pumpkin Pie with Cheese Crust. Both are a nice twist from the more traditional favorites, but so tasty too. Enjoy!

Cranberry Banana Pie
1 1/2 cups cranberries
1 cup sugar
2-3 bananas
Wash cranberries. Remove stems. Combine cranberries and sugar. Cover. Cook slowly until fruit is tender and clear. Cool. Line pie pan with plain pastry. Cover bottom with thinly sliced bananas. Pour cranberry sauce over bananas. Cover with strips of pastry to form a lattice. Bake in hot oven (425 F.) 15 minutes.

Pumpkin Pie with Cheese Crust
Filling
Tempting Pumpkin Pie Recipe2 cups milk
1 teaspoon cinamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups cooked pumpkin, fresh or canned

Cheese Crust
3/4 cup flour
3 tablespoons shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups grated cheese
2 tablespoons cold water

Sift flour, measure, and sift with salt. Cut into shortening and cheese with 2 spatulas. Work water in lightly with spatula until little balls of dough just hang together in one large ball. Turn onto lightly floured board. Roll in sheet 1/8 inch thick. Shape pastry to fit pie pan. Combine ingredients for the filling. Mix thoroughly. Pour into pastry-lined pan. Bake in hot oven (425 F.) about 25 minutes, or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Mrs. R. W. Coates, Whitewater, Wis.
