Mmm ... Dessert Linky Party

Welcome back to my weekly dessert recipe linky. You linked up some great recipes last week, and below is just a sampling. Thank you to all the great bloggers for sharing their recipes with the world and linking at Joy of Desserts.

Please remember basic blogging etiquette. I don't want to have to delete anyone's great links. If you want to link a giveaway, please use my Giveaway 24/7 Page, don't do it here, and please link up desserts only.

Click on the photos below to get to the recipes.

First up, look at these beautiful flower cupcakes which Kirsten of The Sweet Swiper made for her son's teachers. She'll tell you how she made them, and even how to package them for a sweet thank you gift.

*****

This Sweet Southern Rice Pudding was brought to us by Tammie (and Alyssa) at Carolina Heart Strings. It's full of goodness. There's sweetened condensed milk, raisins and cinnamon.  It's delicious, you won't regret making it.

*****

This Strawberry Champagne Chiller is for your elegant tea parties and brought to us by Trish of Sweetology. You can make it with ginger ale if you are serving children or anyone opposed to a little bit of Champagne.
*****

"Name This Pie" Pie! It doesn't have a name yet, but this chocolate pie looks so good, you'll want to make it. It also has a wee bit of alcohol. In this case, it is "Bailey's Irish Cream With a Hint of Coffee" and it is Mrs. Mama Hen's creation. While you are visiting her blog, take a look at those beautiful, orange egg yolks. That's what real egg yolks should look like. She raises her own chickens so she gets top quality eggs.

*****

This is a peach ice cream with delicious, all natural ingredients made with honey rather than sugar. I'm a big fan of using honey or other natural sweeteners like maple. What I don't like are man-made chemical sweeteners in my desserts, but there aren't any of those in this dessert or in The Sensitive Economist's blog recipes.

*****

And since it's been so hot here, and we all love chocolate and ice cream, I'm also highlighting this recipe from The Winelady Cooks. No, there is no wine in this recipe, but there is creamy sweetened condensed milk and a bit of coffee.

*****

Do you make your own puddings, or do you use boxes? It's so easy to fall for the box trap, but homemade pudding is not difficult to prepare. SugarBeam of SugarBeams and Other Half Baked Adventures shares three easy pudding recipes with us for this layered pudding. There's a Dark Chocolate Pudding, a White Chocolate Pudding and Peanut Butter Pudding. They'll make a great dessert together or each one individually.

Wishing everyone a great day,

Raisin Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe and Linky Party

It's back to school time for many families, so I'm sharing a cookie recipe which can easily be sent in school lunches, and it's just as easy to take on the road too if you are a busy homeschooling family. Cookies are always favorite snacks and desserts so enjoy this Raisin Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe.

This vintage recipe uses shortening, but I much prefer the taste of real butter which I think is much better for our health than shortening or margarine. It's up to you, but I would always substitute.

Which wonderful desserts will you be sharing this week?

Which wonderful desserts will you be sharing with all of us this week? It's time to link up.

Here are some fun desserts! I love highlighting some of your desserts and linking back to you. This is just a small sampling of what caught my interest last Monday:

Raspberry Bites - a super easy dessert made with store-bought puff pastry and raspberry jam (or any other flavor.) It was shared by Ewa of Blueberry Craft and Hobby Time.

 *****

Healthy Oatmeal CookiesJulie at Just Winging It shared a cookie recipe full of healthy ingredients including oatmeal, raisins, sunflower seeds and wheat germ. Of course there's tasty brown sugar for lots of energy, too.

 *****

Special Dark Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Icing - Andie at The Wednesday Baker shares a cake so tasty that she made it twice in one week, and a cupcake version too. Grab your forks!

 *****

Butterscotch Gems - Concetta at Concetta's Cafe knows how to feed her family and guests. She invites us to try her own melt-in-your-mouth-goodness as an after school treat, to pack in your lunch, or as an anytime snack.

 *****

Phil's Cinnamon Puffs - Candy of Candy Girl takes cooking classes from a local chef and legend in Central Kentucky, and this recipe is her favorite from the latest class she took.

*****

Zucchini Cobbler Tastes Like Apple Pie?! - Gina of At Home My Way told us that this zucchini cobbler tastes just like apple pie! Can you believe it? I dare you to give it a try! It gets 5 stars from the Taste of Home reviewers. Unfortunately, there was no picture for us to admire.

Calling all vintage recipes! Linky party time!

Time for another Vintage Recipe Thursday Linky Party! Please share with all of us your family favorites. It should be at least 10 years old. How about recipes from when you were a newlywed or a teenager? Maybe it was your mom's recipe or an aunt's or your grandmother's. Or use a recipe from an old cookbook, postcard, magazine or newspaper. Lots of publishers have unfortunately gone out of business so you can reprint their recipes without worrying about copyrights.

Basic Linky Party How-To:
  1. Link up your participating posts, not your main blog page because you want everyone to be able to find your specific recipes weeks, months, and even years from now. It will bring you more traffic.
  2. Link back to your hostesses in your participating posts, not on another page. In this case, link back to Joy of Desserts. It will increase your search engine visibility.
  3. Visit others and leave comments. It will help you find new followers (and discover tasty recipes too).
Enjoy the process of blogging.
Have a great day!

TGIF a Great Place to Savor, Sip, Save

As Joy of Desserts gets more and more popular, I'm proud to say that I get more and more offers from national and even international advertisers, and that means giveaways, coupons, offers, and all sorts of other deals all for you, my dear readers.

My latest advertising sponsor is TGI Friday's. I fondly remember my work-outside-the-home days when my co-workers and I would walk directly across the street to TGIF's for lunch. It was a fun atmosphere and it was one of our regular places to relax and forget for an hour the work we had left on our desks. Journalists don't like this phrase, but "a good time was had by all" was definitely appropriate at that particular location. Even the waiters and waitresses were happy and laughing out loud.

You'll be seeing TGIF's banner ads among the others on my sidebar and above my posts, and they also have special deals for my Baltimore, Chicago, Indianapolis, and West Palm Beach readers. I don't get to participate because I'm in California, but the rest of you in those cities can. :-) I hope you'll enjoy.

Don't these desserts look appetizing?

Below is an offer for Joy of Desserts readers and a select few other blogs. Grab the one for your city. It's great to be able to let you save through my blog.

Oh, and by the way, as if you hadn't realized this already, but I have to specify it, "This sponsorship is brought to you by Friday's® who we have partnered with for this promotion."

Joy of Desserts Monday linky party

Today is the last day to get your coupon for free Dannon Activia Select Yogurt, so click on the link to grab it while you still can. There's French Style and Greek Style!
*****

If you are used to visiting Joy of Desserts, then you probably noticed that I love desserts with fruits. Those are some of my very favorite desserts, so I'm highlighting three of these very tasty fruit recipes.

And I don't think it matters what religion any of us are to enjoy a good doughnut, so don't miss Brigham Young's Buttermilk Doughnuts shared by Ashton of Something Swanky. I'm not Mormon, but I'm a history buff, and I've studied the Overland Journey. Did you know the Mormons literally paved the way West, across the country? They were the main group to create two of the routes west, plus they helped improve relations with Native Americans along the way.

*****
Patti of Comfy Cuisine shared a Kuchen. It's the German word for cake, but one of the many varieties is made in a pie or tart pan, and looks a lot like a fruit pie or tart with its sweet dough crust, custard filling and fresh fruit arranged in a pretty pattern on top. Patti made this lovely German Fresh Peach Kuchen pictured here.

*****
Cares of From Which Things Grow made some individual Plum Upside-Down Cakes. They are picture-perfect, don't you think? Just the kind of beautiful and tasty cake I would enjoy on my August birthday. :-)  Yes, I'm a Leo.

*****
Another great fruit dessert shared last week was Karen's White Nectarine Oatmeal Crumble at Trilogy Edibles. I love the taste of fruit crumbles, and they are so easy to make. You'll get vitamins in the fruit, lots of fiber in the oatmeal, energy from the sugar, and no caffeine in the white chocolate drizzled over the top.

Have a great Monday,
